Abstract: Pressurized pulverized coal pneumatic conveying system is one of the key units in dry feed entrained flow gasification facilities. Currently, many problems such as unsmooth discharge, equipment failures, fluctuate flow rate, etc. are found in the conveying system, and hampered the long-term stable operation of gasification facilities. This article summarized these problems and analyzed the factors which affect the stable operation of pulverized coal pneumatic conveying system. The Analysis shows that the main reasons are, poor quality of coal powders, inappropriate equipment sizes and the process parameters or control schemes need further optimization. Possible solutions are discussed, and it is recommended to incorporate latest research results in dense-phase pneumatic conveying system and conduct systematic experimental studies in a semi-industry test platform, through which to obtain the pressure drop distribution of pipelines and investigate the operation window and control know-hows, and finally improve the stability of pneumatic conveying system of dry feed coal gasification facilities.
